Demos/Rentals

Demos and rentals are the same price, however, if you are shopping for a new bike, the demo program is for you. You can apply up to $600 worth of demo fees to the purchase of a new or previously demoed bike. You must use your accrued store credit within 12 months of your last demo date. After that your account gets reset to $0. Rentals are for folks that just want to get out a ride or trip but are not shopping for a new bike.

To schedule your demo, we will require a valid drivers license, security deposit, and a completed security waiver. Online bookings will have an electronic liability waiver to be signed at the time of booking.

Mountain Bike and Gravel Bike rentals/demos are currently only available at our Denver store. In order to have a bike delivered to our Castle Rock location we need 2 business days to prepare and transport the bike.

We rent and demo our bikes on a 24-hour basis. You may book a single day or multiple days.

Submitting the Book a Demo form does not guarantee a reservation. A team member will email or call you to confirm. Our new booking system will allow customers to real-time availability, but we are only human and mistakes can happen. Please wait for a final confirmation email to ensure that your demo is booked

Standard mountain bike demos/rentals are $150/day, premium road/gravel bike demos/rentals are $150/day. We are unable to offer ebike rentals at this time. All rentals of five days or longer are eligible for multi-day discounts. Special rates do apply for rentals that exceed 5 days and last up to 3 weeks. You can cancel your demo up to 24 hours before the scheduled time. Reservations canceled after the 24 hour grace period will be charged 50% of the original amount of the demo/rental.

We allow mountain bikes to be transported using the following methods: Hitch tray rack, tailgate truck pads, roof rack (excludes e bikes), and inside of a car/van. Please note that bikes may not be stacked if transported inside of a vehicle.

Any returns made after close of business on the final day of the rental period will be charged an additional day until the bike is returned. Our regular business hours are Tuesday – Friday from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM and Saturday from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. This fee is automatically applied your account once the bike is late, in certain instances special arrangements can be made, but you must call ahead to see if our staff is able to accomodate your needs.

Not required at this time, however, we do retain a copy of the customers ID (DL, ID, Passport only) and credit card, complete with billing address and credit card CVV number. In the event that a customer does not return with a bike, Base Camp will charge them for the full retail value of the bike. the original demo/rental fee, and any additional equipment taken by the customer. Local law enforcement will also be notified.

Normal wear and tear is expected during the course of use and is not subject to a fee or repair charge. Riders ARE responsible for frame damage, rim damage, broken parts, and damaged tires. Cost will be assessed at the time of return. Broken parts are replaced at wholesale pricing plus tax and labor.

A few basics for every rider include: Proper footwear, eye protection, MIPS helmet, and a water bottle. Those are just some of the essentials. To see a complete list of recommended gear, check out our blog. All of our rental bike are equipped with bottle cages and the riders choice of platform or clipless pedals. We offer Shimano, Time, and Crank Brothers pedals. If you ride a different brand, please bring them with you and will happily install them at time of pick up.

We do offer helmets with each rental at a charge of $10 per day. We are unable to offer knee/shin/elbow protecttion at this time.

Each demo comes with a fully-tuned bike and good vibes.

Yes and no. You may rent multiple bikes at a time, provided a separate fee is paid for each, there is a rider present at the trail for each bike, and appropriate transportation protocols are followed. We do not allow single riders to take multiple bikes to the trail to demo them back to back, leaving one bike unattended at the car while riding. This creates a high-risk situation that may result in a stolen bike.

The minimum age to rent a bike is 18, and all riders must be older than 14.
