This customer was looking for a fun commuter bike/kid hauler that could tackle the rough Denver streets in style while providing a smooth and fast, yet practical ride. We started with a smokin’ hot purple All City Cosmic Stallion steel frame and paired it with a 1×12 Sram drivetrain to give all the range he needed, whether it was racing to work or towing a trailer full of kids and gear. We installed some powerful, yet light, Hope Tech 3 hydraulic disc brakes for extra stopping power on a comfortable Surly Open Bar. We tacked on a sexy basket perfect for carrying the essentials including a lock.
Our expert wheel builder laced up a set of hand-built Whiskey carbon rims on Hope hubs for a light, yet durable custom wheelset and paired it with some full-length fenders for all-weather riding. To top it off, we found these rad purple tires and grips and installed a gorgeous Brooks leather saddle with hand hammered copper rivets.
The customer was super stoked on this custom build and has used this bike for everything from gravel grinding to city commuting to hauling kids back and forth to school.
“Base Camp Cyclery made this process super fun and super easy. We sat down, talked about what I wanted, they listened, and then delivered a detailed spreadsheet of what they recommended. As soon as I gave them the go ahead, they got right to work and in just a few weeks I had the bike I was hoping for. Thank you Base Camp!”
