Yeti Cycles was founded in 1985 by John Parker in California, when mountain biking was gaining popularity. Parker was a welder who built movie sets in Hollywood, which transferred perfectly for his career of becoming a mountain bike designer and racer later.
The company made a range of mountain bikes but were best known at the time for their iconic turquoise colored FRO (For Racing Only) models.
In 2001, two Yeti employees, Steve Hoogendoorn and Chris Conroy, bought the company and relocated company headquarters to Golden, Colorado.
Yeti mountain bikes have patented multiple suspension systems they call ZeroLoss Technology or linear guide technology and more recently, Switch Technology, which is basically a dual-link design that utilizes an eccentric mechanism that switches direction as the bike moves through its travel.
It’s an honor to have such innovation in our local Denver bike shop. Take a look at a few of the amazing Yeti mountain bikes we’re proud to feature!
Its nimble reach darts through singletrack, andts steep seat tube angle makes light work of climbs. Its head angle and balanced vertical suspension travel prioritize downhill fun, making it an incredible Trans-Cascadia style race whip. Point is, the SB120’s geometry is so balanced and agile, forgetting how much travel it has on the way up and down is totally possible.
One bike can’t rule them all, but the SB130 is one bike that rules. Conceived on rowdy Colorado trails and fed a steady diet of technical climbing and high-speed descents, this bike crushes big terrain. We’re not suggesting you only need one bike, but if you did, this should be on your short list.
Some say the SB140 never met a dirt it didn’t like. We agree in spades. What’s your pleasure? Drag a bar. Make an edit. Stay out after dark. Try it. Land it. Or just stay at it. Happy to pedal. Greedy for more. The mayor of jibtown, proudly wearing the rip crown. The SB140. Down to fun
This is the mountain bike you reach for when the trail is untamed and unrelenting, in both directions. “Trail bike” is a term that gets used pretty liberally in the industry, so we designed the SB140 to be even better suited to go deep and find out what’s on the other side.
When you throw a leg over the all-new SB150, you’ll find it rides strikingly similar to nothing. It is difficult to put into a category. Some may say it’s too slack, too low, too long, too different. But riders who push this bike quickly become accustomed to their newfound capability.
