Why Denver Mountain Bike Shops Are the Best Thing to Happen During COVID-19

trail mountain bike shops

Denver mountain bike shops are the best thing to happen during COVID-19. Amid nationwide stay at home or shelter at home orders, many people want lock-down-compatible ways to get out of the house while still being as safe and comfortable as possible. That’s where cycling comes in. It makes fitness and getting fresh air easy with friends, thanks to the miles of mountain biking trails in and around Denver.

Biking During COVID-19

In the new iterations of the shelter at home, biking to and from necessities and for exercise is permitted in every county in Colorado. We really recommend it, not only because we are a Denver mountain bike shop, but because exercise is great for physical, mental, and emotional health. Movement supports your immune system and is a major antidote to isolation and anxiety.

It’s also a safe and socially distant way to get exercise. While you’re mountain biking, maintaining at least a distance of six feet from others is easy. You should also leave as much room as you can to ensure you stick to social distancing best practices while biking past someone on the road or trail.

Riding safely is also necessary. It is an especially bad time for a bike accident due to hospitals homing people infected with COVID-19. It is especially important that you take reasonable care when traveling and wear helmets and other safety gear.

How Do I Get My Bike Repaired?

We’ve got you! Base Camp Cyclery, your favorite Denver mountain bike store, is still open for repairs and maintenance. It is highly necessary, if and when you visit a bike shop, to take care against placing workers in the bike shop at risk for contracting COVID-19, so we ask that you kindly wear a mask whenever coming into the shop.

It is best to call your local Denver mountain bike shop ahead of time, or you can schedule an appointment with Base Camp Cyclery here. Free pick-up and delivery services are available to make it a minimum contact bike repair. We are working extra hard to make sure your bikes and tools are cleaned and sanitized safely during every step of the repair process. If possible, we hope you can come out to support your local Denver mountain bike shop!

Need a New Ride?

Step into our office! Our shop is open for you to come and check out the latest and greatest bike selection. We’re practicing all necessary safety precautions so come armed with your mask! You can browse bikes on our online shop, but we recommend test riding a bike before committing to it. We have demos available for you to take for a spin on some of the countless miles of Colorado mountain bike trails to make sure you fall in love with it before you take it home for good.

Is it Safe to Rent or Demo a Bike?

Yes! It’s safe as long as you care for the bike’s hygiene the same you do with a shopping cart handle. Sanitize the controls before and after you go if you can. If you can’t, wear full-fingered gloves or take care of what you’re touching before hand washing. Do not touch your face until your hands have been completely washed and your wallet, keys, and credit cards are sanitized if touched.
